John Kaplon serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Lighthouse Medical Center and is also the
Director of the Regenerative Medicine and Neuropathy Treatment Programs. In his role, John is
responsible for overseeing the center’s day-to-day operations, managing all employees,
implementing new ideas and programs to grow Lighthouse Medical Center’s ability to help the
community, and ensuring that every patient receives care with love and compassion. John is
known for greeting each patient by name when they arrive and giving out big hugs to bring joy to
those who may need it.
John brings a unique blend of medical and business expertise to his role. His early career was
spent in Neurosurgery and Trauma at several Level 1 Trauma centers across the United States,
gaining firsthand experience in high-stakes medical environments. After a decade in the medical
field, John transitioned to the corporate world, where he excelled in business management. He
earned multiple awards for his outstanding contributions at leading financial firms, including
Northwestern Mutual Financial Services, Mass Mutual Financial Group, Strategic Financial
Partners, and White and McGowan Financial Capital Partners. Through his individual production
and team leadership in management, he was elevated to more executive leadership positions
where he was focused on building teams that worked together to achieve a common goal of
growth and efficiency for the company they devote their careers to each day.
Recognized for his leadership style, John is known for his empathetic and straight forward
approach, hands-on education of his team, and his ability to inspire employees to become leaders
in their own roles with the idea of promoting team members based on meritocracy and effort. He
fosters a collaborative environment and encourages teamwork with the ongoing contribution of
individual ideas to achieve planned tiered goals. He believes firmly that there is no “I” in the
word “TEAM”. This environment and value set has earned him the respect of those who work
alongside him each day making Lighthouse Medical Center a beacon of hope in the community.
John's commitment to personal growth and leadership began early, from his time as captain ofhis high school basketball team to his involvement with the Chamber of Commerce Leadership
Renaissance. He continues to invest in his development through ongoing education courses and
weekly self-study to better serve his patients, staff, and organization.
Outside of his professional life, John is devoted to his beautiful wife, Jennifer, and their two
children, Hayes and Amy. Hayes plays AAU travel baseball, football, basketball, and sings in
choir. Amy excels in AAU travel volleyball and is in the top tier of her class at an advanced
middle school that focuses on high school level academia. John is an avid outdoorsman and
enjoys providing philanthropic contributions and volunteer work to causes rooted in providing
adoption opportunities for children. His foremost goal is to be a loving husband and father,
prioritizing his family and relationship with Jesus Christ above all.
